IBM® Lotus® Symphony™ is a richly-featured set of productivity tools that are intuitive and easy to use and provided at no charge. There are three applications that make up Lotus Symphony: Lotus Symphony Documents, Lotus Symphony Spreadsheets, Lotus Symphony Presentations.

Lotus Symphony puts you in charge – take control over spiraling upgrade costs, ensure access to documents well into the future with new standard file formats (ODF), get more from your current investments with support for Microsoft Windows and Office file types.

IBM Lotus Symphony is a suite of applications created for office work. Similar to the well-known Microsoft Office, IBM Lotus Symphony provides a large number of features that will help you with your projects. It includes the Lotus Symphony Documents tool that allows you to easily create and edit document files. The Lotus Symphony Spreadsheets can be very useful when it comes to working with spreadsheets. With Lotus Symphony Presentations you are able to create all kind of project presentations. And the best part is that these tools are completely free.

Despite the complexity of this program, the user interface is very easy to use. It allows you to work with tabs, a very practical feature when it comes to editing multiple documents. You are able to select the type of the file you want to edit from the main window of the program. It will automatically open in a new tab and you can easily start editing. On the sidebar you can find all sorts of document properties and tools that will help you in your work. From the Toolbar Preferences you can add or remove panels at any time depending on your needs.

Similar to the popular Microsoft Office suite, IBM Lotus Symphony allows you to directly run Visual Basic code. Another great feature of the IBM Lotus Symphony is “Live Text”, which you can use to identify particular content types such as emails or person names. This suite of office tools contains a large clip art library that is constantly updated.

You will find Lotus Symphony Documents very useful if your work includes a great variety of documents.
